OMG FlexPMD

Everyone should use this. It needs a few more features but it is still amazing as it. Will help the bigger projects that I am a part of out a lot.

Hey,
Actually I dont care about a flex plugin, it would be cool but I only use eclipse when I have to.

The biggest problem that I have seen with it is that it has trouble parsing some things and doesn't give any feed back for why it has broke.

I'm working on a very large ActionScript only project that has different libraries that I calls from lib folders outside of src. The src folder parsed fine but didn't include anything in lib. When I pointed tool at the lib directory it failed. I'm not sure if it broke, it could be something in my code I guess. I hear that it also has problems with Flex projects because of there complexity but I have not confirmed this yet.

Also some of the rules are a little questionable that it checks for but the rule set seems to be pretty comprehensive for the standard stuff. But It would be cool if we could get more suggestions from the Adobe engineers about the best way to write things.

For instance the fastest way to loop over the pixels in an image or things that can be security issues and things that can be done to make your site more secure. Or information on design patterns or organization of your project. Things like what is the best way to write a singleton.

Thanks for the link, I will post some stuff after I play with it a bit more.

If you can give me a test case where it fails, I will be more than happy to take a look at it, and fix the possible issues.

Log a bug, and I will handle it.

Thanks

Xavier
